Fall Activities and Publications!

All Thursdays Writing Collective participants are welcomed and encouraged to submit to two activities by Oct 11 and Nov 29.

The first event is an art exhibit of our books, photos, videos and writing at the Lobby Gallery at the Liu Institute for Global Issues at UBC from Nov 7-Dec 7, 2012. They are interested in social justice issues and are funding an opening night reception for us on Nov 7, 2013, 7pm. We will celebrate that night and hold a live social writing event open to the public. Transportation from Carnegie will be arranged by bus, vans and transit pass.

The Liu Institute is at 6476 North West Marine Drive, across the street from Museum of Anthropology.

To have your work included:

Submit by Oct 11 any writing/drawing on space or place to Elee or Anne by hand or at thursdayseditor@telus.net

Work MUST have been edited or revised at least once!

Submit any maps/wordsquatting, diagrams in good condition.

Sign a release if you want us to include your writing or photo.

We are prepping for our next chapbook: The Stanza Project, launching early 2013. This will be a beautiful literary journal with drawings, essays, creative writing and diagrams from our spring/fall classes including Mark Proosten’s architectural drawings based on our writing.

To have your work included:

Submit by Nov 29 as many pieces as you like of writing/drawing on space or place to Elee or Anne by hand or at thursdayseditor@telus.net

Work MUST have been edited or revised at least once!

Sign a release so we can use your writing or photo.

Not everything will be included, but we hope to have at least one piece by everyone. All forms and topics related to physical or poetic space/place are welcome but you must be a member of the Collective via participation in order to be included. Participants in our writing events such as Nov 1’s  Heart of the City night at the Dunlevy Snackbar and the social writing event at the Liu Gallery on Nov 7 are welcome to contribute.

*These deadlines are firm. The more you submit, the more choice we have. Ask for editing help! We’re happy to talk with you or help in any way.
